Carter Appoints New VP and Adds Staff
Wichita Falls, TX - Carter Aviation Technologies (Carter) of Wichita Falls, TX is pleased to announce that they have appointed Anita C. Infante as their new Vice President of Business Development and Marketing. Ms. Infante has more than 40 years of marketing experience with 24 years in the sport aviation industry working as a marketing consultant. Her aviation clients have included the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Mattituck Aviation, AeroShell, Race 89 and Carter. In addition, she has worked with International Formula One Air Racing and served on their Board of Directors. Anita has also covered the Reno National Championship Air Races for GA News for several years.
In announcing the appointment Carter President, Jay Carter, Jr., remarked, "Anita has worked with us for more than six years on a consulting basis. She has gained a thorough knowledge of our technology and an understanding of our development strategies. She has been very instrumental in the media presence and industry awareness that we have received over the last six years and I am very pleased that she is on board to help us implement our future plans."
In discussing her new position Ms. Infante said, "I was fascinated with Carter's technology the first time it was presented to me. I can envision the immense impact that this technology will have worldwide not only from a commercial standpoint but from a humanitarian standpoint, as well.
"Carter's development process has been long and involved. Jay and his team have been breaking new ground and, at times, situations have been heartbreaking, but they have persevered. The new PAV prototype embodies 14 years of R&D and we believe that it is now ready for market." When asked how quickly production of the current Carter design would take place she commented, "Establishing the timeframe for commercialization is our top priority. Carter is now in an excellent position to move forward. We are actively looking for new funding. Carter is in the enviable position of having funded their development through private investment, awards and paid services and remains debt free. We are looking at several options that are currently available to us."
Carter has always believed that the fastest way to get their technology into the marketplace is through release as an experimental kit aircraft. They will be looking at the new FAA guidelines and how they will affect plans for their current design. Thus far, Carter has 54 orders for their various aircraft designs. Of those orders, 29 are for the 4-place, piston powered PAV as a kit aircraft. Infante also mentioned that they are looking further at the kit industry and have retained Dan Denney as a consultant. Dan has designed and launched two kit aircraft - the KitFox and the Thunder Mustang. His background and knowledge of the kit industry will be extremely helpful in planning for the future.
With commercialization in mind, Carter has also added other staff. The most recent addition is composites specialist, Trent Shackelford. Trent has more than 17 years of experience in the advanced composite structures industry, including the aerospace, defense and commercial sectors. In the past, Carter has used wet lay-up of composites for their prototyping. Trent will be instrumental in refining Carter's composite construction process and making the change to pre-preg.
Carter is scheduled to complete construction of their new PAV prototype and begin flight-testing by the end of this year. Once testing is completed, plans are to tour the prototype giving flight demonstrations to visibly showcase the remarkable capability that Carter's technology provides.
