2005-09-06 - Created a new page showing CarterCopter Technology Demonstrator Flight Test Data and Analysis. This is actual performance data from our latest flight tests, and includes a comparison to several popular kit aircraft and various helicopters.
2005-07-07 - Created a new mailing list on Yahoo Groups. Created a new page on this site with subscription information: CC Alert Mailing List.
2005-04-29 - Made several changes over the past month:
- Created a new Merchandise page, where you can buy Carter related merchandise.
- Created a new Flight Simulator page, where you can download the X-Plane model that our pilots use for flight training. We plan to keep this page updated with the most current version of our simulator.
- Updated the CCTD Flight Testing Video Clips page by creating thumbnails for all of the videos, as well as adding a few new videos.
- Updated the CarterCopter Heliplane Animations page by creating thumbnails for all of the videos, as well as adding a few new videos.
- Created a new 2-Place PAV Animations page.
- Created a new 4-Place PAV Animations page.
- In the FAQ, updated the answer to the question, "Do you plan on going into production with the aircraft?" to reflect recent discussions of starting a sister company to do manufacturing.
- In the Placing Order FAQ, updated the answer to the question, "How much will a certified version cost?" to reflect that the price will be driven by the market, not just the cost to build.
- Made a clarification on the CCTD Performance Prediction Spreadsheet, adding the wording "true airspeed" to the velocity row.
- Fixed a broken link on the Contact Info page, pointing to the Placing Order FAQ.
2005-03-30 - Made the following changes:
- Created an Image Gallery for photos of the current CCTD prototype.
- Created thumbnails for the videos on the CCTD Flight Test Video Clips page, as well as added some videos from the weekly updates.
- On the Papers, Analyses, Proposals, and Reports, corrected the citing for the "Heliplane Transport: Candidate for Air-Maneuver Transport" paper to read "Presented at the American Helicopter Society Vertical Lift Aircraft Design Conference, 2004."
2005-03-25 - Made the following changes this week:
2005-03-17 - Posted a new paper, "Heliplane Drag Estimate" on the Papers page. The analysis was performed by Ken Wernicke, former Chief Project Engineer for all of Bell's VTOL projects, including the XV-15 and V-22 Osprey tilt rotor, up till his retirement.
2005-03-15 - Made the following changes yesterday & today:
- Added a picture of the μ-1 Platinum Eagle Member Names on the aircraft to the μ-1 Members Club page.
- Updated the Propeller Technology page. Corrected a few outdated reference in the text, added pictures.
- Updated the menu on the Heliplane Transport page. Corrected a few outdated reference in the text, added pictures.
- Added new links to the Links page.
- Added pdf versions of all of the patents to the Patents Granted page.
- Created a new CH-45 Heliplane page. This is a medium sized heliplane, smaller than the Heliplane Transport. Like its larger sibling, this aircraft has full hover and sling-load capability, in addition to the high efficiency cruise of a CarterCopter.
2005-03-11 - Made the following changes over the past week:
- Updated the CarterCopter Technology Demonstrator Performance.
- Updated the Landing Gear Technology page. The description has been updated to include the new landing gear design, and images were added to the page, as well as links to videos and the patents.
- Posted a new paper, "The Carter Heliplane Transport Slowed Rotor/Compound Aircraft: Candidate for the Air-Maneuver Transport (AMT)" on the Papers page.
- Added an About Carter page, pulling information from the old business plan that explains our company philosophy. Moved the personnel info to that page.
- Added a picture of the jet aircraft concept to the CarterCopter Jet Version page.
- Cleaned up the menus on the CarterCopter Technology Demonstrator page, the CarterCopter Diesel Version page, and the CarterCopter Jet Version page.
- Reorganized the Concepts & Technologies page, and the Papers and Reports page.
- Added the Clarification of G-Force Landing Gear vs. Smart Struts to the 2004-04-04 b Press Release.
- Created a thumbnail menu on the Photo History of the early history of the CarterCopter, from construction up through the first flight tests.
- Removed the business plan from the site. It had not been updated for nearly three years, and much of the information was outdated. A few of the pages, such as the Personnel pages and the Patents Granted page were kept, but moved to different parts of the site.
2005-01-31 - Added a picture of George Mitchell to the Test Pilot page. Also, cleaned up the photos on that page, as well as the Ground Crew and Support page.
